love the earth. every thing you do makes a difference.

 

1. get a chlorine filter for your shower. chlorine is poison.

2. get a chlorine filter for your kitchen faucet. chlorine is poison.

3. add bricks to the inside of your toilet to lessen the amount of water you use with each flush.

4. do not flush every time you use the bathroom (use your judgment and choice here).

5. only use recycled paper; reuse scraps of paper.

6. make your own notebooks out of recycled paper.

7. recycle all plastic, newspaper, glass, cardboard.

8. use solar and/or wind power.

9. tell car companies you would like the hydrogen engine. it produces NO emissions.

10. use cloth bags or reuse your grocery store bags. store them in the car so you have them when you need them. also, do not put your produce into those little thin plastic bags. the more thin the plastic, the more toxic it has been suggested to be.

11. bike or walk more. drive less. use public transportation.

12. only use natural cleansers - not toxic ones.

13. don't eat meat; it's an incredible waste of grains and land (and supports the torture of animals) & pollutes air, water, and earth.

14. use less electricity; many power plants still use coal power that pollutes the air.

15. use soy candles.

16. Buy & learn Clean and Green by Annie Berthold-Bond. Learn how to make simple, effective, nontoxic household cleansers.

17. Start your own organic herb and vegetable garden. Plant organic apple, fig, cherry, peach, or other fruit trees. A few plants go a long way!

18. Start a community organic garden.

19. Plant wildflowers, trees, bushes, and plants that attract butterflies.

20. Know that you are connected to the earth - you breathe her air, eat her food, and drink her waters. Protect her and she sustains and protects you.

21. Give living gifts - plants, trees, flowers in pots so they can live and grow.

22. use glass cookware...not aluminum. use glasses, not plastic cups. use glass storage containers, not plastic.

23. do not use deodorants that include aluminum as an ingredient. aluminum accumulation in the brain has been linked with development of alzheimer's. choose natural deodorants.

24. approach life with a kind and caring heart - how may i serve others and the earth - rather than what can i get from it? small, thoughtful gestures can change the world.
